Papaya Loco Foodie Getaway

Your Itinerary

Day 1. Welcome to Papaya Villa

    • Check in and relax.
    • Join Marcus & Shoran for Tapas and Sangria in the Nakamal

Day 2. Market Excursion and Cooking Class

Foodie Getaway
    • Breakfast is served.
    • Food Market Excursion: After breakfast we will head into Port Vila and explore the ‘Mama’s Markets’ and see what we can find. Everything here is naturally organic and representative of many local villages where the produce is grown.
    • Gastons Chocolate Coffee Break: Marcus will introduce you to the famous Gastons Chocolate and shout you a coffee. You might be in for a treat if Olivier (Gaston) has made some of his awesome cheesecake, and you can purchase a treat or two if you feel the need for some additional calories (and who doesn’t). It time to head back to the villa for a light lunch, maybe a swim or siesta and then into the kitchen.
    • Cooking Class: Later in the afternoon you will take your first class with Marcus. You will be preparing dinner for this evening. Menus really depend on what is available and in season. Unlike developed countries where you can purchase most anything at any time of the year, we are constrained by the weather and how that impacts availability of produce, and whether the guys go fishing or not. So it’s an adventure and we take a step back in time to when cooks cooked by seasons. Marcus will pair wine for your evening meal.

Day 3. Cooking Class & Farewell

    • Cooking Class: Coffee is served and then into the kitchen where you will take your next class with Marcus. You will be preparing breakfast. Shoran always prepares some fresh local fruits, again depends on what is available and in season. Marcus will show you how to prepare some classic Portuguese breakfast dishes, so expect this to be more of a brunch.
    • Lunch: Depending on your departure flight times a light lunch or takeaway is provided
    • Farewell: Sadly, all good things come to an end. But hopefully you will return to us!
